NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A month of Pain, and frustration spilled into the streets of Sanford yesterday as police closed the center of town as thousand gathered to support Trayvon Martin's parents.
Trayvons parents met with city leaders, a month after their son's death.
"We're not asking for an eye for an eye, we're asking for justice...we're asking for the arrest of George Zimmerman," said Trayvon Martin's father Tracy Martin.
The community watch volunteer has been hiding since he fired the fatal shot but now friends are coming to George Zimmerman's defense.
"From what I know, the bottom line is, is there was a life and death struggle in that instance and someone was going to die," said Joe Oliver a friend of Zimmerman.
Adding to the confusion and emotions surrounding the case, confirmation that Martin was in Sanford with his father after being suspended from school after a bag of marijuana residue was found in his backpack.
"They killed my son and now they are trying to kill his reputation," said Martin's mother Sybrina Fulton.
Supporters say it is a diversion from the real issue.
Tomorrow Martin's parents will be in Washington for a congressional forum and protest part of what they call a continuing search for justice.
