NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Like a home run shot off of a hitter's bat, major league baseball's value continues to climb. In fact, according to Forbes Magazine, the average team's value is up 16 percent from last year.
That's now a sizzling $605 million.
Leading the pack is the New York Yankees, valued at $1.85 billion, they lead the majors for the 15th straight year.
The Dodgers are next at $1.4 billion, up 75 percent from last year.
The Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies round out the top five.
Only two teams fell off in terms of value - the Mets and Tampa Bay Rays.
