NBC NATIONAL NEWS — While Peyton Manning puts his name on the dotted line in Denver, a famous Pittsburgh Steeler says goodbye to the game - receiver Hines Ward is hanging up his cleats.
Ward made the announcement today in Pittsburgh.
Jerome Bettis was one of several players, coaches and team execs who showed up to support Ward.
Ward has his name on all of Pittsburgh's big receiving records. He and Jerry Rice are the only two NFL players with 1,000 catches and two Super Bowl rings.
Ward said he'll treasure his days as a Steeler and couldn't see himself playing for any other team.
