Lafayette Parish, La (NBC33) — People living in Lafayette Parish are still drying out after last week’s heavy rains.
A representative from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says more than 500 homes were damaged north of I-10, and close to half of those homes were in the Carencro area.
On Monday, FEMA officials came out to survey the areas damage.
Officials say they are prepared for any potential flooding tonight’s big rain event could bring.
