The government lost a lawsuit dealing with the flooding following Hurricane Katrina.
A U.S. District Judge ruled the Army Corp of Engineers failed to properly maintain a navigation channel that led to the flooding in the lower 9th ward.
The judge did say the Corp can't be held liable for the damage in eastern New Orleans.
The plaintiffs received about $170,000 each.
