BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A local jump rope team is swinging into the national spotlight tomorrow.
They're called "Heart and Soul," and they'll be showing off their rope skills at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
The students from Parkview Baptist competed against jump ropers across the country for the opportunity to perform. About 140 kids were selected, and 12 of those came from Parkview.
"It's neat to know that this sport is being able to be shown to the nation," says Marlene Price, faculty advisor. "A lot of people don't know what jump rope is about and so that's what we're excited about that other people are going to see the things we are capable of doing."
The parade kicks off at 9am on Thursday on WVLA NBC33.
