NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A settlement has been reached between the owners of the New York Mets and a trustee for Bernard Madoff's fraud victims.
Both sides settled for $162-million this morning, Monday, March 19, in a New York City Court.
Trustee irving picard argued mets owners knew that madoff's corrupt investment scheme was a fraud...but continued investing anyway because they were making a lot of money.
Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz, Principal Mets owners, deny knowing Madoff was cheating investors.
Jury selection had been set to begin today in the civil trial.
