BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The first 100 percent electric car has been ordered by a Baton Rouge customer. With gas prices climbing towards an all-time high, more could turn to the new technology.
Louisiana is one of only seven states in the entire nation to get the latest in green technology. The new all electric Nissan LEAF is fully equipped with all the latest gadgets, and gets 100 miles on a single battery charge.
The vehicle only became available for purchase a few weeks ago. Now, orders are being placed at Royal Nissan and the first one should arrive in Baton Rouge within the next four weeks.
“We are very excited to be such a large part of creating a better environment and moving Baton Rouge to the forefront of environmentally friendly cities,” Brad Smith, owner of Royal Nissan, said.
