Morgan City man arrested for resisting arrest and battery

St. Mary Parish, La — A deputy was called to the Bayou Vista Truck Stop in reference to a suspicious person.

Upon the deputy’s arrival, the security officer advised that above a man, Jonathan Lewis, was acting suspicious and had locked himself in the restroom.

The officers made contact with suspect and was attempting to detain him for investigation when suspect fled down the hallway, pushing the security guard down and fleeing the store.

The officer gave chase and apprehended him after a foot pursuit.

Lewis, 34, was arrested and charged with Resisting an Officer with Force and Simple Battery.
