Folks hoping for a bridge to be up and running between New Roads and St Francisville have to wait even longer.
The $407 million project was set to be complete by next year.
But weather and high waters on the Mississippi River have pushed that opening. Officials say it could be mid-2011 before its complete.
In the meantime.. people are still taking the St Francisville ferry.
When the bridge is complete - the John J. Audobon bridge will be the longest bridge in the country that's supported by cables.
The Department of Transportation and Development says they're working as fast as they can - but they are doing what they can given the bad weather.
