BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 27-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing his girlfriend’s estranged husband ten times during a fight in a parking lot.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office says Skyler Lonidier of Slaughter attacked the victim after a phone conversation. Apparently Lonidier was in a relationship with the victim’s ex-wife. The victim and the woman were having a conversation by phone when Lonidier got on the phone and the two men began a verbal altercation.
During the conversation, Lonidier told the victim to drive to the Meridian Condominiums located on South Fork Drive. That’s where he and the victim’s ex-wife were located.
The victim complied with the request. When he arrived at the condominiums, the two men continued the heated argument in the parking lot. At some point in time, Lonidier pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim ten times.
The wounds were located mostly in the chest and abdomen.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
We’re told Lonidier confessed to stabbing the victim, but said he did try to render aid to the man and called 911 when he realized what he had done.
Lonidier was also treated for self-inflicted wounds resulting from the fight.
Lonidier was booked into the East Baton Rogue Parish Prison for one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
