Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, otherwise known as "The Wearin' of the Green Parade", will take place in Baton Rouge at 10:00 a.m.
This year's Grand Marshal is Tim O’Brien. Also riding in the parade will be Mayor Kip Holden, Sheriff Sid Gautreaux, and the Pat Screen Family.
The parade itself will consist of three pipe bands, six marching bands and 77 floats.
It has continued throughout the years with help from both the Krewes, which consists of Baton Rouge citizens, and various corporate sponsors.
Parade organizers The Parade Group, LLC get volunteer groups to marshal the floats to ensure that every year is a family oriented parade.
