New Orleans, La — In the early morning hours of today, the New Orleans Fire Department received a 911 call from the Garden District Security Company reporting smoke coming from a two story residential brick home located on Third Street in New Orleans, La.
The first arriving company reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof and rear of the building that was under renovation. A second and third alarm was struck to bring additional manpower and equipment to the scene to assist with extinguishment of the fire.
The building was under renovation and firefighters were able to protect the exposures and to contain the fire to the building involved.
The building received heavy fire, smoke and water damage and the roof partially collapsed.
No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
