SPRINGFIELD, LA (NBC33) — Two teens are facing serious charges for posts they made on Facebook. The duo are accusing of terrorizing by making suggestions of a shooting to occur at their high school.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office was alerted by a concerned party regarding the Facebook posts. We’re told Richard Gainey, 17, and Taylor Thomas, 18, both attend Springfield High School and insinuated through the social media site that there would be a shooting at the school.
When confronted, the teens said the posts were meant to be a prank and they never intended to harm anyone.
However, the Sheriff’s Department arrested the teens and booked them in the Livingston Parish Detention Center in lieu of a $25,000 bond. Both have been charged with one count of Terrorizing.
