Holden, La (NBC33) — One local pastor is trying to is sprucing up a camp that has been part of the Baton Rouge community for over 80 years.
Pastor Mike Di Maria is working with youth groups like the Denham Springs High FCA, to rebuild the outbuildings, pool, and facilities at Camp Singing Waters in Holden.
Di Maria says once this 75 acre camp is up and running again, he's looking to make it a leadership camp for youths in the Baton Rouge area and surrounding areas.
"It's a community effort to have something for kids to come in and for people to invest time and energy with those kids and it's focused for leadership, training and development," said Di Maria.
