BATON ROUGE, LA (WDSU) — The 2011 homecoming queen and standout LSU women's soccer player said she isn't afraid of burly men trying to sack her on the gridiron.
In case you haven't heard, 6-foot-tall 190 pound Mo Isom is trying out for the LSU Tigers football team. Her kicking tryouts have had local and national media clamoring for an interview.
On Thursday she spoke briefly to the media to rebut any claims that, while she is a woman, she can take a hit on the field.
"Do you see my size?!" Isom told reporters on Thursday. "Everyone thinks I am the average size and weight of a female. I am 6-foot-1 almost, and I weigh about 190 pounds."
Share Isom, unafraid to disclose any detail about her athletic physique, noted that the weight is "all muscle."
Isom said she is working on becoming an Avatar -- a reference to the alien race called Na'vi in the James Cameron movie.
"That's the goal with the body type," Isom said. "I can take a hit. I'm just fearless. I'm not bound by fear. I think I can handle a hit -- just fine."
