DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (NBC33) — The Louisiana State Police are investigating an accident that involved a mother being hit by a passing vehicle.
We’re told the incident happened just before 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. A woman pulled her vehicle on the side of LA16 in Denham Springs for unknown reasons. While she was standing outside the vehicle another passing car struck the woman.
A child was strapped into a car seat in the back of the vehicle. The child was not injured in the crash.
The woman, however, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Although the investigation is ongoing, troopers do not believe alcohol was a factor in this crash.
No citations have been issued at this time. However, the case is still open.
