NBC NATIONAL NEWS — If you are in the market for a new HDTV, March to early April is the best time to buy before prices go up.
Many retailers are discounting prices on their 2011 inventory as 2012 models come in.
Also several major manufactures are moving away from minimum advertised pricing, MAP, to UPP, unilateral pricing policy. UPP penalizes retailers that sell televisions below the manufacture's preset price.
The new policy goes into effect April 1 and is aimed at helping stores with higher operating costs remain competitive with online retailers.
