PIERRE PART, LA (NBC33) — Illegal window tint landed a 32-year-old man behind bars. That’s because an Ascension Parish Sheriff Deputy says he had a bottle of illegal prescription drugs in the car, along with a one-year-old child.
The arrest happened in Pierre Part on Monday, Feb. 27. The deputy pulled over the vehicle for illegal window tint violation. The vehicle was occupied by a female driver, a male passenger and a one-year-old child.
During the traffic stop a deputy witnessed the front male passenger, Cody J. Theriot, 32, place an object in the front of his jeans. The deputy asked the man to exit the vehicle for a pat down. That’s when the deputy found the prescription pill bottle with the label torn off.
The bottle had 133 pills, which officials believe to be Alprazolam, or Xanax.
Theriot was booked on charges of Possession with intent to distribute schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substances (Xanax) and Illegal Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under 17-years of Age.
Theriot is being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
