NBC News — The sister ship of the cruise ship that capsized off the coast of Italy last month has finally made it back to port after a fire at sea. On monday a fire in the Costa Allegra's generator room disabled the ship in pirate infested waters off the coast of Africa.
The fire knocked out power to the entire ship, leaving the more than 1000 people on board without fresh food, water, working plumbing and air conditioning in the tropical heat. A triage center has been set up in the Seychelles to evaluate the conditions of the passengers. Many of the passengers are expected to leave thursday back to Italy on specially chartered flights.
