NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Davy Jones, the frontman for the 1960's band The Monkees, died of a heart attack today in Florida.
Jones' publicist says he died in Indiantown in Martin County.
The 66-year-old became famous in 1965 when he joined The Monkees a popular rock group formed for a television show.
He sang some of the group's most memorable songs like "Daydream Believer" and "I wanna be free."
Jones is survived by his wife and four daughters.
