NBC NATIONAL NEWS — AT&T showed a bit of the future at an exhibit in Spain.
Representatives demonstrated how day-to-day activities like opening the blinds and locking a door can become automatic by pre-setting devices that are installed in the home.
Glenn Lurry, a spokesman for the company, said people can feel at home without really being there.
“What we want to have is make you feel like when you are not at home, that you are at home: the ability to see inside your home with cameras, or the ability to see if your doors are locked or not,” stated Lurry. “The ability to see, let's say, if you have an irrigation system and it breaks, we can put a sensor on it and allow you to fix that from your phone, with a turn off valve. The concept is endless in your life."
Lurry did not want to give a figure for how much it would cost to make one's home technologically advanced.
