ST. AMANT, LA (NBC33) — Thousands of people have signed a petition to get a guardrail on a dangerous road in St. Amant.
That's after two young girls were killed when their mother's car swerved off of stringer bridge road and into Black Bayou.
Right now, there's nothing to keep cars from going into the bayou.
That petition was turned into the Department of Transportation and Development Tuesday, Feb. 28.
DOTD officials say they review all major crashes to see if safety improvements need to be made in area.
They plan to do this with that stretch of stringer bridge road.
