LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — An argument at a pool hall turned into a violent altercation, sending the victim to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The incident happened at around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 on West Congress Street in Lafayette. Officials say a 33-year old male and his friend were involved in a verbal argument with a group of young men inside of Fast Eddy’s, a local pool hall.
Officers with the Lafayette Police Department say that when the victim attempted to leave the business, one of the suspects came out and shot a gun at him. The victim was struck in the side of his chest.
The victim was driven to an area hospital where he remains hospitalized.
Detectives are seeking information about the person who fired the gun. They describe him as a young black male, medium build. They had no other physical description.
