NBC News — Former South African President Nelson Mandela is back home after a two two day hospitalization. Mandela was released from hospital on sunday after an overnight stay for minor diagnostic surgery to determine the cause of abdominal pain.
Media and well wishers have been camped outside of Mandela's home over the weekend, waiting for word on the health of the 93 year old nobel peace laureate. Mandela underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy, a procedure that involves surgeons making an incision in the stomach to insert a thin, lighted tube.
