BATON ROUGE,LA (NBC33) — THIS IS AN NBC33 NEWS UPDATE: Closing arguments are underway in the trial against St. Gabriel Mayor George Grace.
Prosecutors say Grace took bribes to bring a bogus trashcan cleaning company named Cipher 5000 to St. Gabriel.
Grace is facing thirteen charges.
Prosecutors wrapped up their arguments just after lunch, and the defense has been presenting their closing arguments.
Well-known defense attorney Lewis Unglesby is heading up Grace's defense.

ORIGINAL STORY (2/24/12): Another day on the stand for former Saint Gabriel Mayor George Grace.
He's the last in a string of local public officials charged in the federal corruption trial.
Grace is the last witness the defense plans to call in the case.
Closing arguments are expected to begin next week.
No word yet on when the case could go to the jury.
