MONROE, LA (KTVE) — One University of Louisiana Monroe student is lending her voice for a big honor, she'll soon be singing for President Barack Obama.
ULM senior, Allyson Wilson sang "The Lord's Prayer" at a Rotary Club luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 23 in Monroe.
Wilson's talent was discovered while she was at work at "Residence Inn." A visitor asked to hear her sing, she did, and three weeks later Wilson was invited to perform two songs at the White House.
"I'm very excited and very nervous, but I have time so I can prepare myself a little bit more. It's been an awesome experience. So far God has just opened so many doors," says Wilson. She will perform at the White House on April 21, 2012.
