LAPLACE, LA (NBC33) — The Coast Guard says they've picked up 100 bags of oiled debris so far in connection to a spill that happened last week in the Mississippi River.
Almost 5,000-feet of boom is placed on the river tonight.
Two barges collided into each other early Friday morning. That crash sent oil into the Mississippi River near Laplace.
The Coast Guard still doesn't have an exact number of gallons that leaked, but they say it's less than ten thousand.
The leak was secured soon after it started.
More than 100 people are involved in the clean up.
