NBC News — The Syrian refugee situation in Turkey is growing. So many refugees are now living in Turkey the government there is starting to assemble more permanent housing for them. Around 12,000 Syrians are living in refugee camps in Turkey near the border.
Turkey is promising to help the refugees, saying that they will do all that they can to assist them. The country is also home to opposition members from the Syrian National Council and Syrian army defectors. The Turkish Red Crescent, the country's version of the Red Cross, is helping run the refugee camps.
