Some family members of the Louisiana National Guard are having an extra special Thanksgiving. That's because 8 members of the 415th Military Intelligence Battalion are back home.
The soldiers stepped off the blackhawk and into the arms of friends and family. The troops spent the last 11 months in Afghanistan. Their mission there was to collect military intelligence.
The soldiers landed in Baton Rouge just a few minutes before midnight. They were greeted by about a hundred people just outside a private hangar near the airport.
Everyone says they're glad the eight soldiers are back on american soil.
