HAMMOND, LA (NBC33) — Two men were arrested on Sunday after a drugs were found during a traffic stop in their vehicle.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office pulled over the New Orleans-natives on Wardline Road on Sunday, Feb. 5 at around 1:00 a.m. When the Deputy approached the silver Lexus, he noticed the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
The Deputy asked the driver, Kameron Sears, 19, of Destrehan if there were any illegal narcotics or weapons in the car, to which he replied “no.” Sears then gave permission to search the vehicle.
During the search the passenger, Damien Landry, 20, of Metairie, told the Deputy that there was in fact a bag of marijuana in the glove compartment of the car. While searching, the Deputy also discovered six more bags of marijuana.
Both Sears and Landry were arrested.
Sears was charged with Driving without a License, Possession of Marijuana and a traffic offense.
Landry was charged with Possession of Marijuana.
