BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Faculty Senate at Southern University is deciding whether or not to give Chancellor Llorens a vote of no confidence.
In just the past few months a financial emergency was declared at the school. Faculty Senate President Sudhir Trivedi tells NBC33 News the talk of no confidence is being proposed because some members feel the chancellor is hurting Southern more than helping.
Llorens became chancellor of Southern University back in April of 2011. He says the financial emergency is a good chance for the university to regroup and become stronger.
