NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — A former BP employee has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the oil giant.
August Walker of Covington says he was fired last month by BP after complaining.
He says he was fired for talking about concerns he had about the cleanup of Mississippi's shoreline after the Gulf oil spill.
The lawsuit was filed last week in New Orleans Federal Court.
The man says one of his bosses manipulated data on the cleaning - then didn't tell the Coast Guard what was really happening.
BP says they're investigating the complaint.
