LOUISIANA (NBC33) — TANGIPAHOA PARISH - A 30 year-old is locked up for stealing lots of copper wire. The sheriff's office says Patrick Reed Stewart stole copper wire from eleven businesses in and around Hammond. Deputies say it started back in October. Stewart's facing eleven counts of felony theft, and right now he's locked up in St. Tammany Parish.
EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH - The Belle of Baton Rouge held a job fair for more than fifty positions, from deckhands to hotel staff. Belle officials say this job fair will not only improve the quality of service at the casino, but bring up the local Baton Rouge economy. Applicants at the fair said opportunities like these help the spirit of Baton Rouge, making it possible for those looking for jobs to find work. L'Auberge Casino and Hotel will have their own job fair tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the company’s employment center on GSRI Avenue.
CALCASIEU PARISH - A squirrel was first attacked by a cat, and is now an artist. His name is Winkelhimer, and he's an internet hit. The person that rescued the little guy is a painter, and now, Winkelhimer is trying it out too. Some of the paintings are going for $40 dollars at auction. The money goes to help other animals in need.
