Gonzales Skatepark Grand Opening

GONZALES –Parish recreation officials announced today the Ascension Parish Recreation Department Skate Park Grand Opening scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4, has been postponed because of forecasted inclement weather.
“We are tentatively rescheduling the grand opening for Feb. 11 pending the weather forecast for next weekend,” said Ascension Parish Recreation Director Garney Gautreau. “We knew local skating organizers were planning on holding several events during the grand opening including live music and skate competitions, but we want this make sure this outdoor event will be a success for our parish.”

Gautreau said a media release will be sent out next week to confirm the Feb. 11, noon to 5 p.m. event. The skate park is located on Irma Boulevard between the National Guard Armory and the Council on Aging.
