BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A shot of Jack Daniels honey whiskey, and a pint of locally brewed Tin Roof beer, mixed together is making for the hottest new drink in town.
It's called the "Honey-badger," and it's just in time for the BCS Championship.
This homegrown drink is selling fast at local sports bars and restaurants across Baton Rouge.
You can bet that it's being ordered somewhere in New Orleans this weekend, as locals that created the drink, show up for the game.
"One of those drinks that sticks,” Darin Smith, General Manager of Walk-ons, explains. “[It has] LSU ties with the football team, and being in proximity to the stadium, we are directly tied into LSU and LSU football. So it's been a great drink for us."
Walk-ons says they didn't even carry Jack Daniel's honey whiskey until the drink was born a few weeks ago.
Now, they go through bottles regularly.
