Authorities want you to be careful if a cleaning supply salesman knocks on your door today.
They say a group of scammers have been duping folks in Central out of their money. City officials say they've already gotten dozens of complaints from angry residents claiming they had been ripped off.
The scam victims say the solicitors sold them what should have been a high-tech cleaner, but it turned out to be nothing more than water with food coloring.
The salesmen told buyers they are with T&S Sales out of Georgia, but officials say that company has never applied for a license that would allow them to sell products.
"One it's a concern because people are purchasing items that turn out to be fake or frauds, and two they have been harassing citizens who are refusing to buy the products or not answering their doors” says David Barrow with Central’s Mayor’s office.
Officials say Central isn't the only city that has been tricked by these phony cleaning supply salesmen.
The scammers have been reported throughout East Baton Rouge and Livingston.
