A Baton Rouge community wants to take matters into their own hands when it comes to crime prevention.
Folks living in the Hermitage and Cross Creek subdivisions have broken away from the South Burbank Crime Prevention District created one of their own.
Residents say they were tired of paying for increased patrols they never got.
Neighborhood leaders say they've been on their own for a few months and are ready to make changes. They’re encouraging folks who live in the area to head to the polls on November 14th to vote in favor of a $100 annual fee that neighborhood leaders say will go straight back into keeping the streets of the Hermitage-Cross Creek communities safe.
