Baton Rouge lawyers took a break from their offices today to help out the needy. The Bar Association asked Baton Rouge residents to lend a helping hand by donating money or non-perishible foods to the eleventh annual food drive. They stood outside the wal-mart on the corner of Highland and Lee, passing out flyers and collecting donations.
Last year the Bar Association collected 2,000 pounds of food for the Baton Rouge Food Bank and this year, the expect to do even better.
The Food Bank supplied them with eight barrels to fill with donations. If you missed a chance to donate food today, not to worry. The Food Bank is accepting donations all year round.
