The government is setting aside millions of dollars for an appliance rebate program.
It is similar to the "Cash for Clunkers" program. Unlike the car deal, there's no trade in required, but customers do have buy an Energy Star electronic.
Customers will get a rebate check of $50 to $200. The rebates will to cover everything from refrigerators to air conditioning units. The program begins this fall.
