A Baton Rouge sandwich company faces charges of unsanitary conditions. The Food and Drug Administration reports that they have seized tuna salad sandwiches and other food products from the Southern Belle Sandwich Company. According to FDA reports, inspectors found widespread insect and rodent infestation, filthy conditions, and food utensils lying on the floor near live insects.
The FDA is urging those who purchased the product to dispose of it.
The company released a statement, saying the raid was only because they didn't follow certain paperwork procedures. They say their food has not been recalled and that they maintain a clean and safe facility.
