A new report says graduation rates in Louisiana are falling. The report comes from the Southern Regional Education Board in Atlanta.
It says graduation rates dropped to 60% in 2006. That's down from 64% in 2002.
At the same time - the Department of Education says they want to cut 50 jobs over the next 6 months.
That's to help the State put a dent in a potential $2 Billion deficit. The Associated Press says the D-O-E think there's a problem with the graduation numbers. They say there may be tabulation flaws due to hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2005.
