LOUISIANA (NBC33) — GRANT PARISH - The federal prison in Pollock is on lockdown after fights broke out on New Year's Eve among inmates. Prison spokesman Steven Niles said the fighting broke out shortly before noon on Saturday at the U.S. Penitentiary, the maximum-security segment of the federal prison complex. Niles said five prisoners were taken to local hospitals for treatment. By Sunday, he said, four had been returned to the prison. What caused the fight is still under investigation. Niles said a review of video inside the prison showed at least 15 inmates were involved, possibly more.
ORLEANS PARISH - Residents are asking law enforcement to look into what they believe is foul play at the Greenwood Cemetery. The residents e-mailed in these photos, and say they found what appeared to be human bones in plain sight. Graveyard officials are investigating to figure out what's going on.
