The PGA Tour's Zurich Classic begins Thursday at the TPC of Louisiana. While New Orleans has always been the event's home, organizers want the entire region to embrace it.
To that end, the first Baton Rouge Zurich Classic pro-am was held Wednesday at the University Club.
Two-time United States Open champion Lee Janzen headlined the fourteen player professional field. He had his best finish in recent memory last weekend at Hilton Head, tying for fourth place.
The Fore Kids! Foundation has always poured money back into the Baton Rouge area. The money raised Wednesday will add to the total.
This marked the first time in over four decades that touring pros played in the Capital City.
