New Orleans, La (WDSU) — New Orleans police said they're investigating the stabbing of an officer Wednesday night who was responding to reports of a brawl in the middle of an Algiers street.
The incident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. near the corner of Vespasian Boulevard and Hendee Street in the new Fisher Housing Development.
Investigators said the fight involved at least 20 people, both adults and juveniles.
Detectives said the officer was stabbed in the arm by a 12-year-old girl, who was arrested at the scene.
Police said they're still investigating, interviewing witnesses and other arrests are possible.
