Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Here in the Capitol City area, restaurants and bars are gearing up for what they expect will be a huge turnout on New Year’s Eve.
Some businesses plan on pulling out all the stops to make sure 2012 starts off with a bang, and many bars in the Capitol City, like Hooters on Siegen Lane say they'll have drink specials and large crowds.
Others plan to take their party outdoors; The Grape in Perkins Rowe will kick off their first annual outdoor New Year’s Eve party on Saturday.
They say they'll open their restaurant to folks in Perkins Rowe, have live music, and even serve champagne at midnight.
"It'll be out here”, said Amy Alise, general manager of The Grape. “We're going to have lots of tents; we're going to have lots of heaters. It's going to be a really good party, and it's going to be dress to impress - a strict dress code on that night alone. We're going to open all of our doors, and make it an indoor-outdoor party.”
And if your night goes too well, Mockler Beverage is partnering with Yellow Cab to offer their annual safe ride home service. The number is (225) 926-6400.
