BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The U.S. Census reports that Louisiana’s population is on the rise. The latest numbers show 12-thousand people moved to the state between April 2010 and July of this year. Most of them for jobs.
The Govenor's office says Louisiana has seen a two-and-a-half percent increase in the numbers of jobs - most of them in the private sector. That's compared to just over one percent in the south.
Governor Jindal says though the numbers are good, he's working to make Louisiana the best place to find a job and raise a family.
