Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Patients at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital received a pick me up from some very special visitors.
Mayor Kip Holden helped pass out some cheer at the hospital today. He was joined by Gwen Graves of Raising Cane's and Cane II, the restaurant’s mascot.
More than 150 toys were given out to the children. The mayor said It's an event that's very dear to his heart.
"Just to see them - to give them reassurance, to bring them a cheer with a doll and a dog and those things - those are all very special,” stated Holden. “There's no price you can put on what we did today."
This is the second year Holden has taken part in the event.
