NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A secret Santa hit the Omaha, Nebraska area over the weekend. Almost a dozen families received an anonymous gift at a Kmart layaway department.
Three-year-old Brice is like any kid this time of year. He has several toys on his Christmas list. His parents, Dona and Matt Bremser picked them out a few weeks ago and put them on layaway at Kmart.
Manager Roni Meek was called back to layaway, where a young couple was waiting.
"They wanted to pay off somebody's layaway. Just any random layaway," said Meek.
She and an associate picked an order with toys and the couple paid off the balance.
"All but a penny to keep the layaway active," said Meek.
Sunday another young couple came in and paid off five layaway orders.
One of those orders was Christmas toys for Brice.
"There is not a way to describe it and the person who did it, I just want to say thank you. You made this little one have the best Christmas possible," said Dona Bremser.
It's a Christmas that has new meaning this year.
Bremser says her family planning to pay it forward too.
"Going to be hopefully a family tradition," said Bremser.
