Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) —
There will be a sweet treat for some local families in need this holiday season.
Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro donated 792 cheesecakes to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank this afternoon, which will be given as part of their Christmas meal to needy.
This is the first time that Copeland’s has teamed up with the food bank.
"It feels so amazing,” said Jenny Matherne with Copeland’s. “It’s just such a wonderful thing to be able to smile and say ‘Here you go’ and give to those in need. It's a feeling I've honestly never felt before. It’s wonderful."
The food bank serves 11 parishes, providing food for more than 120 charity agencies in the area.
